Are art foundation courses free?

Free. Charged, but at a lower cost than the subsequent years of study. Charged at the same cost as the subsequent years of study.

Qualification overview The BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design is a vocational qualification at Level 3. It is the equivalent of 1.5 GCE A Levels.

I am currently doing a Foundation Year for Biochemistry and I think it’s definitely worth doing it. It just gives you a good set of skills for your actual course and especially for Maths they will most likely cater your modules to the course you will be doing afterwards. So it will prepare you quite well.
