What is Square Root?

Square Root centers on a contemporary kitchen showcasing a variety of 7-15 course chef’s tasting menus. The menus are priced from $75-$150 per person. In the open kitchen, diners experience the art of the meal from start to finish.

Where are you located?

Square Root is located at 1800 Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans.

What are the hours of operation?

We are open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00pm-12pm. 

Do I need a reservation for Square Root?

Dining at Square Root is by ticket purchase only.

How far in advance can I book a ticket at Square Root?

Ticket seatings are available up to 30 days in advance.  Any ticket purchases outside of 30 days are taken on a case by case availability by calling 504-309-7800 or emailing info@rebelrestaurantgroup.com

How do I book a reservation?

Reservations may be secured through Tocktix.com or from our website, click “Tickets” and check the calendar in accordance with your desired date and party size.

Can I make a reservation by phone?

No. We only accept reservations online through our website or through Tocktix.com.

Why this type of reservation system?

We have chosen to only make pre-purchased tickets available online because of the intimate size and scope of the restaurant. The restaurant has only 16 seats so seating is at a premium.

Do you keep a wait list?

Yes. Please check Tocktix.com for any changes in reservation availability.

I never received my confirmation email. What should I do?

How much does Square Root cost?

Square Root features a variety of seven to fifteen course chef’s tasting menus for $75 up to $150 per person. Beverage pairing options, sales tax and gratuity are not included.

What are beverage options?

Square Root offers a Sommelier Reserve Wine Pairing, Mixed Beverage Pairing,  Non-Alcoholic Beverage Pairing or A la Carte Beverage options per person.  We require at least one of these options to be chosen at time of your ticket purchase just so our staff can have ample time to prepare prior to your arrival.  We also have a full wine and beverage list available upon request.

Can I bring my own wine?

Yes, you can bring your own wine in for a $50 corkage fee per bottle.

How long is the experience?

We recommend allocating at least two and a half hours to enjoy the complete 15 course experience.

I am going to be late for my reservation. What should I do?

If you are going to be late, you should call the restaurant immediately at 504-309-7800. Guests will be granted a ten-minute grace period after their scheduled seating time. After that, the experience will begin without them. 

I need to cancel my reservation. What should I do?

Once tickets for your experienced are purchased they can not be canceled or refunded.  Your tickets can be sold or transferred to any individual of your choosing.  You may opt to reschedule your dining experience for a different time and day. You can check availability by emailing info@rebelrestaurantgoup.com and someone will reach out with availability of your choosing.  You may only reschedule once and it is on a first come first served basis of available dates and times.

What happens if I don’t show up for my reservation?

Because the restaurant is small, it is very important that each party show up in a timely manner. If you do not show up for your reservation, you will forfeit your right to participate in the dining experience for that evening.  You do have the option to reschedule at a later date on a first come, first seven basis by emailing info@rebelrestaurantgroup.com.

What is on the menu?

The menu at Square Root is constantly evolving. The meal on any given night is largely based on what is fresh, both in terms of ingredients and inspiration from our chefs.

Will I be able to order from the menu à la carte?

No. The tasting menu each night will be determined prior to your arrival, so there isn’t a traditional menu in which you select your meal. However, we assure you that any and all food allergies or dietary restrictions will be accommodated as long as you contact us at info@rebelrestaurantgroup.com at least 48 hours prior to your reservation.

I am a vegetarian. Can I eat here?

Yes. We can customize our menu to accommodate any preferences. We ask that you contact us at info@rebelrestaurantgroup.com at least 48 hours prior to your reservation so we may be properly prepared for your arrival.

I have allergies. Can you accommodate them?

Yes. We are able to accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions. We ask that you contact us at info@rebelrestaurantgroup.com at least 48 hours prior to your reservation so we may be properly prepared for your arrival. This will allow us to create a menu based on your dietary restrictions.

What is your dress code?

Our dress code is smart casual. We ask that you dress comfortably and considerately of others but please do not feel the need or pressure to come in your Sunday best.  Respectfully we can not and will not allow any tank tops or hats worn during your dinner or within the restaurant premise.

May we take pictures?

Please do. We want you to enjoy and remember your experience at Square Root. However, we ask that you do not use flash photography or video cameras during your meal.

Do you have parking?

There is plenty of on-street parking in the immediate area.


Do you take walk-ins?

Due to the nature of our experience, we are not able to accept walk-ins.
