Is Canon Speedlite 430EX III RT good?
The Canon 430EX III RT is Canon’s best midsize flash ever. The 430EX III is small, light, loaded with power, recycles immediately and works both as a radio or optical IR slave. It also works as a radio commander. The only thing it won’t do is work as an optical commander; for that you need a 600 EX RT.
Can the Canon 430 EX III be used as master?
Well, the British press-release indicates that the 430EX III-RT can work “alongside Canon’s existing radio or optical wireless flash control systems as a master or slave.”
Does Nikon speedlight work with Canon?
So, as long as it’s a sync-voltage safe (digital-era) flash, you can just put it in the Canon hotshoe, and it will fire in sync with the shutter release. But that’s all it will do. It will probably fire at full power, as it cannot do TTL/HSS/2nd curtain/camera menu communication with the camera.
Can Nikon flash be used for Canon cameras?
Are all flashes compatible with Canon?
For example, if your camera features through-the-lens (TTL) flash control, you’ll want a flash that works with it. Fortunately, you can pretty much use any Canon Speedlite and there are other popular, highly-recommended third-party off-camera flashes that go very well with Canon cameras.
Are flashes for cameras Universal?
Every brand of DSLR will use the same pattern of contacts on their hotshoes. This makes it very easy to tell if a 3rd-party flash is compatible with it or not. Just as long as the pattern of contacts are the same on the flash and hotshoe, the flash is compatible with the camera.
What’s new with the 430EX III-RT?
But the really big news is that the 430EX III-RT, like the 600EX-RT, has two additional wireless modes – radio frequency master and slave modes. For the first time ever in a 400-series Speedlite flash, the 430EX III-RT can control another Speedlite with remote slave capabilities (radio mode only).
Is the Nikon 430EX III RT worth it?
This 430EX III RT flash is for hard-core outdoor fill flash, sports and portrait work. I prefer the smaller and simpler 320EXflash; this larger flash works a little more quickly and has a little more power, which means a little more range in daylight, but I don’t want to carry it around my neck all day.
Does the 430EX II have auto-zoom?
The 430EX II’s auto-zoom feature would have directed more light onto the subject – and less would have bounced off of the side wall to fill the shadows. Of course, I could have manually chosen a wider angle flash head setting on the 430EX II, but the cup of tea was empty by then.
Does the 430EX III have a light the screen button?
Oddly even a camera’s light-the-screen button does not light the screen of the 430EX III. I cover how to set the LCD to light in orange at Usage. Since it’s completely silent as it recycles, there’s a CHARGE bar graph if it takes more than a couple of seconds to let you know the recycle charge state.
