Is Independence Hall worth visiting?
There are a few exhibits on what the bell meant for the civil war and slavery down a hallway- not a whole lot on the origins of the bell or it’s time around the revolutionary war, and at the end is the bell itself. It’s neat to see- but I’d certainly say it’s one of those things you only need to see once.

The tour is about 15-20 minutes long. There are 60 tickets for each tour. Visitors will see the Assembly Room (where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were both signed) on the first floor of the building.

To maximize your visit to the park, and minimize your security screening time, the park recommends that you bring only small bags, if necessary. The fewer items you have to be checked, the more time you will have to enjoy the buildings on Independence Square.

Pennsylvania’s display bell was made out of sugar. On the Liberty Bell, Pennsylvania is misspelled “Pensylvania.” This spelling was one of several acceptable spellings of the name at that time.
Who put the crack in the Liberty Bell?
Speaker of the Pennsylvania Assembly Isaac Norris first ordered a bell for the bell tower in 1751 from the Whitechapel Foundry in London. That bell cracked on the first test ring. Local metalworkers John Pass and John Stow melted down that bell and cast a new one right here in Philadelphia.
