Okemo is rated #1 in snow making and grooming. The only problem might be, weather dependent, Vermont ice. Otherwise a great beginner and intermediate mountain (suggest Jackson Gore for parking and possibly staying for ski-in-out) and also there are some excellent expert slopes. None as challenging as Killington and not as much terrain.

Is Vail’s acquisition of Okemo a monopoly?
Vail has gobbled up Okemo, along with some other ski areas, in what many might consider a monopoly type coup. While one would hope that this would benefit these ski areas as Vail has deep pockets, there have been few noticeable improvements to most of these resorts thus far. What skiers may notice is a general hike in prices.
