What is a Jacquette scaler used for?

The double ended scaler is used to remove plaque and calculus from the tooth surface, above the gum. It works well in tight occlusal spaces.

What instrument is used to remove calculus on anterior teeth?

Mini–bladed or micro mini–bladed Gracey curets, with 50% to 70% shorter, thinner working ends compared to traditional curets, are excellent choices for root planing anterior teeth. A 1/2, 5/6, or 13/14 mini or micro mini Gracey curet can be used. A Gracey Curvette Sub–0 is also an excellent choice.

What is a 204S scaler used for?

The 204S Sickle Scaler is designed for tight proximal surfaces, removal of supragingival calculus for all tooth surfaces, and the edge of the gum. Also used for removal of filling and cement excesses.

What is the Jacquette scaler?

A periodontal hand instrument used for root debridement and the removal of subgingival calculus.

Which scaler is used to remove subgingival calculus?

The use of fine tips in an ultrasonic scaler has proven to be a great deal more efficient for supragingival and subgingival scaling when followed by hand instrumentation.

What is a Gracey 13 14 used for?

Area specific curettes for the removal of deep subgingival calculus. These area-specific curettes are for removing deep subgingival calculus and for finishing subgingival root surfaces. Put the tip third or half of the cutting edge against the tooth.

Can we use ultrasonic scaler subgingival?

Traditional ultrasonic scalers should not be used subgingivally due to thermal damage to the gingiva and pulp. This occurs because the water coolant cannot reach the tip of the instrument.

What is the Gracey 3/4 used for?

What is a Gracey 17 18 used for?

The 17/18 Gracey Curette is designed to improve access to the distal surfaces of posterior teeth (Figure 15). The deep angle of the shank, along with multiple bends, provides crown clearance and prevents interference of the handle with the opposing arch and teeth.
