What is Charon made of?
Charon’s surface seems to be made up of frozen water which is different from the frozen nitrogen, methane, and carbon dioxide of Pluto’s surface. Astronomers think that Charon has an ice-based geology due to the active ice geysers (cryogeysers) and ice volcanoes (cryovolcanoes).
Is Charon pronounced like Karen?
He then opted to use Charon since it was pronounced the same as Karen and adhered to the expected naming convention. Just an FYI, it’s not a nice word in Hebrew.
