Why is there no Delete key on Android?
Probably the main reason is space limitation. There’s only so much space to put keys, so the decision was probably made a while ago to put the more commonly used Backspace key, rather than the Delete key.

You can highlight a full word by only using your keyboard if you hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys, and then press the arrow key in the direction you want to highlight. For Apple keyboards that only have a Delete key and not a Backspace key, pressing delete removes the text before the cursor.

Same goes for the BACKSPACE key. The code is a queue manager (This is what I like to call a school project taken too far), so the Enter and Backspace keys are crucial. I tried many ways to figure this out, like printing the key to the console, and LOTS of Google searching, with no luck sadly.
