Lexan® Margard MR5E sheet is a premium grade, hardcoated, high optical quality Lexan® polycarbonate sheet for building and vehicle safety & security glazing. The Margard hardcoat gives improved abrasion and chemical resistance and maintains the UV protection of standard Lexan® Exell D polycarbonate sheet.

SABIC LEXAN™ coated films are both or one side hard-coated polycarbonate films offering excellent abrasion resistance for scratching optical clarity and excellent impact resistance. LEXAN™ coated films offer law warpage and weathering.
Which is stronger Plexiglass or Lexan?
Overall Strength Lexan is the strongest and can withstand impacts to such a degree that it won’t crack. Instead, it displays resistance by bending. Plexiglass is still quite strong, but it may crack or chip, given enough time or impact. That’s because it’s a little less rigid than Lexan.
Does Lexan scratch easily?
It is highly resistant to acids and chemicals, such as gasoline. It has a low level of flammability, which is essential in certain industries. LEXAN polycarbonate is also available in a variety of flexible (film) grades. The cons of LEXAN are that it is easier to scratch, and minor scratches cannot be polished away.
Can you clean Lexan with Windex?
never, ever, use cleaners containing ammonia. Cleaners such as Windex or 409 will harm your new piece of polycarbonate. Use only products specifically recommended for cleaning polycarbonate such as Novus #1, or Brillianize, and a soft cloth. (All are available in our showrooms and OnLine).
What is the best tool to cut Lexan?
When you need to cut Lexan, you can essentially treat it as a sheet of plywood and cut it with any power saw you would use for that material. Make straight cuts with a circular saw or table saw, and curved ones with a band saw or jigsaw. You should use carbide-tipped blades with closely spaced teeth.

What is the best product to clean Lexan?
Wash Lexan™ Sheet with a mild soap or detergent (e.g., Joy** dishwashing liquid) and lukewarm water using a clean sponge or a soft cloth. Rinse well with clean water. Dry thoroughly with a chamois or moist cellulose sponge to prevent water spots.
