Can freshmen live in campus apartments UCR?
Can freshmen live in a Campus Apartment? No. Supported by national statistics, we strongly believe the Residence Halls are the best environment for freshmen students to start their university experience. Campus Apartments are reserved for second-year continuing, transfer and graduate students.
Does UC Riverside have single dorms?
UCR offers on-campus dorms, on-campus apartments, and off-campus apartments. But, freshmen are only allowed to live in the dorms their first year. The dorms are available in singles, doubles, and triples, though singles are rarer. Double-occupancy rooms are the most common in the residence halls.

Can you dorm with the opposite gender at UCR?
Students living in the Gender-Inclusive Housing Option can enjoy all of the traditional social and educational programming offered by our Residential Life team to all residence hall students. However, no additional gender-inclusive programming is offered on this hall.

Can I park overnight at UCR?
Yes, a valid permit is required. Valid permits (Gold, Gold Plus, Red or Blue) are allowed to parking in lot 25 once a day for a max of 90 minutes in Non-Reserved spaces. Orange are valid only after 6:00 PM one time per day. Housing and Campus Apartment permits are not valid at any time.
Is it cheaper to have a dorm or apartment?
Apartments are Usually Cheaper than Dorms While it may seem surprising, apartments are cheaper than college dorms. This is because dorms require students to pay semester fees for room and board. These fees cover the costs for utilities, laundry, and other services.
Does UCR have a dress code?
No jeans, medical scrubs, swim attire, pants with rivets or zippers, or any material deemed to damage equipment is not permitted. A top, bottoms, and closed-toed athletic shoes (non-marking soles) are required. No boots, open-toed shoes, or high heels allowed.
