Miravirsen is a LNA-modified oligonucleotide complementary to microRNA-122 (miR-122). miR-122 is a small, liver-expressed, regulatory RNA that has been shown to facilitate HCV replication in liver cells. Miravirsen works by inhibiting miR-122, leading to a rapid loss of HCV replication.
