There are 11 Z parkruns in total: Zandvlei in South Africa, Ziegelwiese in Germany, Zillmere in Australia and Zuiderpark; and seven in Poland, Zalew Zemborzycki, Zalew Zyrardowski, Zemek v Malborku, Zatyumensky, Zelenograd, Zhukovsky and Zielona Gora. The parkruns don’t have to be run in alphabetical order.
Can you run up Arthur’s Seat?
The most accessible way to run Arthur’s Seat is to do the loop around Queen’s Dr., a paved road encircling the park. it is not too traffic-y and there are decent shoulders. For a particular challenge, one can also take the trails paralleling the road or heading up the mountain. This is a hilly run, but gradual.

Can I run without a barcode? Yes, but you won’t appear in the results table. If you cross the finish line please take your finish position token as ducking out of the funnel severely distorts our results. Return the token to a volunteer before leaving.
Do I need a paper barcode for parkrun?
Your barcode needs to be printed on paper or be one of the tags such as http://www.parkrun-barcode.org.uk . If it’s printed on paper please get it covered so that it doesn’t get wet or sweaty – we do have some plastic wallets available or you can do this quite easily with sticky back plastic.

“You have to go through Holyrood Park to Dunsapie Loch and climb from there. ” You dont have to – you can climb from other points in the park. As others have said, wear sturdier shoes than trainers but hiking boots arent necessary. As long as your trainers have a decent tread you will be fine.

Can I bring my barcode on my smartphone or watch instead of printing it? Yes. However, we continue to encourage you to have a printed barcode and to carry it with you when you come along to parkrun.
Do you need a printer for parkrun?
We know that parkrun is unusual in requiring you to bring a printed copy of your barcode rather than showing it on your phone. This policy may change in the future but for now the strict ‘no printed barcode, no result’ policy remains and is made clear on the PDF barcode file and in the FAQs.
