What bushings fit Independent trucks?
To give you a feel for which durometer to go for, Independent Trucks come built with the Medium Orange 90A bushings. So go harder or softer than that depending on what you want.
What Bones bushings should I get?
There are a lot of different types of bushings but not all are suitable for every skateboard. If you ride a regular skateboard barrel/cone bushings with a hardness between 87A and 92A should be fine. Heavier riders should consider 94A, kids need softer bushings, 85A to 90A should work for most kids under 12.

What bushings are best for street skating?
Double Barrel Bushings As the name suggests, the top and bottom bushings are identical and barrel shaped. These bushings are also called downhill bushings because the superior stability they offer makes them a great choice for skating downhill at high speeds.
Do Bones bushings need washers?
The bottom bushing is designed to just sit on the baseplate. The top bushing is secured with a large washer (provided). I generally keep my trucks pretty tight, so I found I really had to tighten the top nut quite a bit.

Do Thunder trucks turn well?
They are the heaviest, last longer, but turn slower. Thunders are great for street skateboarding, are more responsive and turn better. The downside is they wear down faster. Ventures are cheaper, provide more stability but offer less turn.

The hard bushings from Bones are perfect. They definitely stiffened up the trucks and hold up to my ollies. If you want stiff trucks and/or need something heftier to put up with extra weight, these are perfect.

The faster you intend on riding, the tighter your trucks should be. Tight trucks provide stability at higher speeds, reducing the likelihood of catching the dreaded speed wobbles. If you’re considering riding downhill, or if a vert ramp session is in your future, consider tightening your trucks for safety’s sake.

How does a single action bushing work on a truck?
When you turn a normal truck, the hanger web puts pressure on one side of each bushing (top and bottom). This squeezes that side and pushes the other side of each bushing away from the kingpin. We call this a single action bushing because only one side of the bushing works for you at a time.
