What is the Rockwell hardness of H1150?

28
On the Rockwell C scale, 17-4 H1150 Stainless Steel has a hardness of 28.

What is H1150 M?

H1150-M Condition A material heated at 1400°F + 25°F for 2 hours, air cooled, then heated at 1150°F + 15°F for 4 hours and air cooled. **For most applications, 17-4 stainless should not be used in Condition A. This is true even though the desired tensile strength may be provided by that condition.

What is the Rockwell hardness of 17-4 H900?

C40
17-4 PH Stainless Steel Properties

Condition Ultimate Tensile Strength (PSI) Hardness Rockwell
H900 190,000 C40
H1025 155,000 C35
H1075 145,000 C32
H1150 135,000 C28

Which is the best stainless steel grade?

304 stainless steel is the most common form of stainless steel used around the world due to excellent corrosion resistance and value. 304 can withstand corrosion from most oxidizing acids.

What is the difference between 1150m and h1150m?

there is a status called H 1150M which is treated at 1400F/2hr, air cool, then 1150F/4hr air cool. This is for the best machinability with higher elongation and much higher impact strength, compared with single aging H1150. It makes no sense aging the same twice.

What is the difference between single age and double age h1150?

A double H1150 should result in exactly the same mechanical properties and corrosion resistance as a the single age. It may be slightly better uniformity and it may have slightly lower residual stresses, though neither of these are guaranteed (may people believe so, but I have never seen quantitative proof).

Do you purchase the material in h1150 condition?

We typically purchase the material in the H1150 and machine the part in the H1150 condition. We do the same with the H900 condition also. Our supplier only offers the Annealed state, so they drop ship to a heat treatment facility that has proven to be unreliable to delivery…etc. So we have been search for an alternative supplier.
