Huauzontle is an excellent source of calcium and phosphorus to strengthen bones and teeth, fiber to stimulate the digestive tract, and vitamins A and C to boost the immune system and reduce inflammation.

Where does huauzontle come from?

Chenopodium nuttalliae is a species of edible plant native to Mexico. It is known by the common name huauzontle (literally “hairy amaranth”, from the Nahuatl huauhtli ‘amaranth’ and tzontli ‘hair’). Other variations of the name include huauhzontle, huanzontle, and guausoncle.
