Are Sea Cadets part of the Navy?

Sea cadets are members of a sea cadet corps, a formal uniformed youth organisation for young people with an interest in waterborne activities and or the national navy. The organisation may be sponsored in whole or in part by the navy or a naval supporter’s organisation.

Is Sea Cadets good for kids?

There’s a great way for young people to get a taste of Navy life in a voluntary youth organisation called the Sea Cadets. Navy Cadets learn life skills like leadership and team-working through nautical adventure activities.

What do kids do at Sea Cadets?

Salute all officers who are close enough to be recognized as officers. It is unnecessary to identify an officer by name; however, ensure that he/she is wearing the uniform of an officer. Salute properly and smartly. Avoid saluting in a casual or perfunctory manner.

WEAPON TYPES Shooting is available to all cadets. Shooting is strictly controlled by qualified staff to ensure maximum safety.

Not every police force has Junior Volunteer Police Cadets; however, a growing number now offer 11 – 13 year olds the opportunity to join the Junior Volunteer Police Cadets (JVPC). The JVPC are usually based at a school venue suitable for young people to attend.

What rifles do Sea Cadets use?

When you fire in the Sea Cadet program you will use the Daisy 853C air rifle. We refer to the cadet rifle as a rifle. It is not a pistol, gun, shot gun or assault rifle, it is a rifle. The rifle fires 177 calibre pellets, which are known as ammunition.

What age leave cadets?

You can join when you’re between 13, or 12 if you’re already in year 8 at school, and usually leave when you’re 20.

Do Air Cadets shoot guns?

Whatever level you are as a cadet, you’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at military skills and drills including shooting. Marksmanship goes a long way back in the history of Air Cadets and is one of our most popular activities.
