Process Lasso consists of a core engine and a user interface. The two are separated so that users can completely close the user interface while keeping Process Lasso active, managing processes.

How do I limit CPU usage Process Lasso?

The CPU Limiter is accessible at the ‘Options / CPU / CPU Limiter…’ menu item, or in the process context (right-click) menu. The CPU Limiter can dynamically reduce the CPU use of running processes by temporarily constraining their CPU affinity.

Does Process Lasso do anything?

Process Lasso can still be beneficial though. Its ProBalance algorithm can help preserve system responsiveness during high loads and prevent interference in game play. Other features, such as power profile automation, may also be useful.

Does Process Lasso improve performance?

ProBalance: Hitting ProBalance Enabled will start the ProBalance Algorithm. This setting comes enabled by default and allows Process Lasso to dynamically adjust your CPU priorities with little to no performance overhead. This will, in general, improve responsiveness and overall performance.

If your power plan is set to “Balanced” or “Power saver” and you’re experiencing issues like audio crackles, dropouts or other negative performance issues, we recommend switching to the “High performance” power plan. It uses more energy, but should increase the performance of Live (and other CPU intensive programs).
