How long will Bona Traffic HD last?

Bona Traffic is infinitely stronger than Bona Mega. It looks better (and yellows less over time), it lasts much longer (often an extra 3 to 5 years, pending on the wear and tear), it has lower VOCs and it smells less. In addition, it cures much faster and this is especially important if you have pets or kids.

Do you need to sand between coats of Bona Traffic HD?

INTERCOAT ABRASION: It is not necessary to abrade between Bona waterborne sealer and finish coats unless more than 48 hours has passed since the previous coat was applied. For smoothest results, abrade between all coats as necessary.

How long before you can walk on Bona traffic?

3-4 hours
Traffic HD is one of Bona’s fastest curing finishes – fully curing in three days. You can walk over it with socked feet after 3-4 hours. After 72 hours, homeowners can move furniture back in (and once again, lift don’t drag).

Do I need a sealer before Bona Traffic HD?

Finishes are not sealers; therefore, it may take several finish coats to soak into the wood before you actually have a coat of finish sitting on top protecting your wood from wear. It’s best to use a stain or sealer first before applying Bona finish.

When can I apply a second coat of Bona Traffic HD?

How long should I wait between finish coats before applying another coat? Bona waterborne products dry in 2-3 hours under ideal conditions. If you are applying the same product then it will be okay to do so once dried.

Can you sleep in house after polyurethane?

No, it is not recommended, and you shouldn’t take chances. Polyurethane will be off-gassing heavily for the first 24 hours, even for the water-based type. It is worse if you use oil-based finishes: it’s highly toxic and can cause several health problems.

Does bona leave a film on hardwood floors?

Bona products are specially designed to protect floors and the environment. Bona cleaners won’t dull your floors or leave behind any residue.

Why does bona leave streaks?

Streaks usually come from a combination of possible residue in the cleaner and existing dirt on your floor. Many cleaners on the market can be used on multiple surfaces and claim they are safe for wood; however, hardwood is a sensitive surface and needs to be treated with care.

Can you use Bona traffic without hardener?

Does the hardener have to be added to Traffic HD? Absolutely! Bona Traffic does not become a urethane without the hardener. The finish will still dry but the film will be soft and will never reach its maximum durability.

How long does polyurethane need to cure?

It takes a full 30 days for the floors to cure, so it’s ideal to wait 30 days before putting area rugs on the surface. If you need to/want to put them on sooner, then 2 weeks is another good benchmark, but 30 days is better.

How long does it take for polyurethane fumes to dissipate?

The duration for which Polyurethane fumes can last depends on the type of poly used. Fumes from Water-based poly often dissipate completely after 21 days. An oil-based poly smell can take anywhere between 30 – 45 days to clear. Fast-drying polyurethane fumes only last 3-7 days.

Does bona leave a sticky residue?

Bona products are specially designed to protect floors and the environment. Bona cleaners won’t dull your floors or leave behind any residue. Find the perfect products to clean, shine and protect your floors.

Why do my hardwood floors look cloudy?

The most common causes of a hazy or cloudy film on hardwood floors after cleaning are a buildup of floor cleaner, wax buildup, trapped moisture, and bad floor cleaners. All these can make wood floors appear to have a milky, white substance on top of the surface even after cleaning.

How do you remove cloudy haze from hardwood floors?

Mix a one-to-one ratio of water and vinegar, dampen a cloth, and rub off the hazy buildups. Rinse with another cloth dampened with clear water and dry the floor immediately with a third rag. Washing coupled with wear and tear can eventually make the hardwood floor look old and cloudy.

Does Bona traffic need a sealer?

Can I use Bona Sealers over Bona DriFast Stain? It’s important to note that you do not need to use a sealer when you use Bona DriFast Stain. Our stain formula will penetrate and seal the wood so it’s ready for a coat of finish.

Does Bona HD have yellow traffic?

Bona Traffic remains clear for the life of the floor meaning it will not amber or turn yellow with time.
