Does Cave Run Lake have a beach?
There are two main beaches – Zilpo and Twin Knobs. Twin Knobs is larger and somewhat easier to get to. It has a boat ramp, summer amphitheater programs and scheduled campground activities. The campground also has volleyball courts, basketball hoops and horseshoe pits as well as many other amenities.

The Benton MacKaye Trail Association schedules a minimum of two hikes per month, one of five to eight miles and moderate difficulty as well as a leisurely, shorter, easier hike that may be somewhat slower paced. In addition, we have occasional backpacking hikes.

Camping: There are only two shelters along the entire trail, one in Cherry Log, Georgia, and the other in the Smokies (Laurel Gap Shelter).
