Scampston Hall, home to Christopher & Miranda Legard and their family, is one of the finest examples of a regency country house in North Yorkshire.

When was Scampston Hall built?

History. Scampston Hall was built in the late 1600s for William Hustler. The estate was bought in the 1690s by Sir William St Quintin, 3rd Baronet, who was Receiver General for Ireland and Member of Parliament for Hull. The estate and title were inherited in 1723 by his nephew — also William — who was MP for Thirsk.

Is Scampston hall dog friendly?

Dogs are permitted in certain areas of the Parkland on leads. The ticket office will outline these areas on the estate map upon your arrival. We are unable to allow dogs into the Walled Garden or Hall gardens but please feel free to bring your dog to the terrace outside of the cafe.

The project to extend and remodel the existing site will provide an additional 12 pupil places, removing the need for students and families to travel outside of the Borough to attend school.
