Why is it called a Fireblade?
The FireBlade name was almost a direct translation of the Japanese word for ‘lightning’ and while the bike itself didn’t push the technological boundaries (being a proven 16-valve, liquid-cooled inline four cylinder) it was a positively slim 185kilos with around 120bhp pushing it.
