In my opinion, the best ARE 5.0 exam order strategy and the one most commonly used, is to complete the 3 Professional practice exams first, which are: Practice Management (PcM) Project Management (PjM) Construction Evaluation (CE)
Are 5.0 fail retake?
When you pass an exam, it is valid for 5 years. After that time it will expire and need to be retaken. To complete NCARB’s ARE 5.0 all exams must be within a 5 year time frame. NCARB’s Rolling Clock is the time you have left to complete the remaining exams.
Is the amber book worth it?
After reviewing about 50 different questions from each exam, I am very impressed. I think these questions are a fantastic representation of the types of questions you will see on your exam. The explanations for each question were also very thorough and well written.
How long to study for each are exam?
In terms of the time needed to prepare, you should expect to spend three months and 50 to 55 hours studying for each exam division. That means about six hours each week, which includes reading review materials, practicing exam-like questions, watching videos, and taking assessment exams.
Is pass a score?
You need to answer between 58 – 65 percent of scored items correctly on these divisions to pass. Practice Management and Project Management require a slightly higher percentage of questions to be answered correctly to pass. You need to answer between 61 – 68 percent of scored items correctly on these divisions to pass.

Yes. It is a very challenging and complicated exam process. People are failing the ARE Exam every single day. If the ARE was easy, EVERYONE would be a Registered Architect and it wouldn’t mean anything.
