What is better pin lock or ball lock kegs?

Both will hold 5 gallons, or about 40 pints of your favorite homebrew. Another difference is that ball lock kegs have a pressure relief valve (PRV) on the keg lid, while pin lock kegs typically do not. Pin lock kegs must instead be depressurized by pressing down on the center of the gas connection keg post.

Can I transfer carbonated beer from one keg to another?

Re: Keg to keg transfer of carbonated beer Connect gas-to-gas and beverage-to-beverage between the source keg and an equally pressurized destination keg. Elevate the source keg. Pop the relief valve on the destination keg for a moment to get a siphon going. Feel free to walk away.

What is a MFL connection?

MFL and FFL fittings are simply a type of compression. The M in MFL and the F in FFL simply stand for Male and Female. The beauty of flared fittings is the seal that is created when the fittings are tightened as the seal is not created by the thread, but by the contact between the two flared (or chamfered) surfaces.

Why is it called a Sankey keg?

Sanke kegs have a single valve on the top of them that allows for both beer and gas to pass-through. The beer flows via a spear in the valve that runs to the bottom of the sanke keg. A sankey coupler is essentially sanitary key (Sankey) to unlock the beer inside the sanke keg.

Are Pepsi kegs ball lock?

Pepsi landed on the Ball Lock style while Coke uses the Pin Lock style. Homebrewers have since re-purposed these as homebrew beer kegs.

How does a Sankey keg coupler work?

The keg coupler attaches to the valve and to a CO2 compressed gas line. It allows the compressed air to enter the keg and push out the beer. As a result of all of these components working together, you get a perfectly chilled and delicious draft beer in the comfort of your home.

Can you transfer beer from keg to keg?

The simplest way to do this is to attach a “gas in” fitting (usually grey for Pepsi kegs) to the “gas in” post and let the keg vent. (This is why you want only a small amount of pressure on the keg.) Beer will move up the spear and out of the first keg and down the spear and into the second keg.

How much pressure can a Sanke keg hold?

600 psi
Sanke kegs are designed for 600 psi.
