Can you put a HK upper on an AR-15 lower?

Super Moderator. The thing to keep in mind with any AR15/M16 lower to which you attach an HK416 upper is that you MUST have a hammer that has the proper profile to hit the firing pin safety. The M16 hammer should already be able to do this. Some AR15 hammers have a profile which is not “tall” enough to do this.

Can you build an AR pistol with an 80 lower?

In addition, you can easily construct your own AR-15 pistol using an 80 percent complete lower receiver, a lower receiver parts kit, and an upper receiver assembly which can all be purchased from American Made Tactical.

Is a lower receiver considered a pistol?

That has led judges to rule that a lower receiver alone cannot be considered a gun. The lower receiver sits above the pistol grip, holds the trigger and hammer, and has a slot for the magazine. By itself, it cannot fire a bullet.

Can you put an AR pistol upper on any lower?

It’s not necessary to use a lower receiver stamped “Pistol” or one that is marked with the specific caliber of ammunition you plan to use when building an AR pistol. The markings are irrelevant just as long as the lower is brand new from the factory at the start of the build.

What lower is needed for AR pistol?

Keeping Your Weapon Legal

  • Use a stripped lower receiver that has never been barreled as a rifle action.
  • Use an angled foregrip such as the Magpul AFG that is less than 26 inches from the unadorned tip of the barrel to the end of the buffer tube.
  • Stay under the 16-inch barrel length and 26-inch overall length.

Can I sell an AR-15 that I built?

Proving the original intent of your AR-15 build The safest way to legally sell your home-built AR-15 or firearm is to make sure you can prove, before the sale (if ever necessary), that your original intent was not to manufacture your AR-15 just so you could sell or transfer it to another individual.

What makes a AR-15 pistol illegal?

An AR-15 pistol has a barrel shorter than 16 inches — this is the minimum legal length for a rifle barrel. The National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) defines any rifle with a shoulder stock and barrel less than 16 inches in length and 26 inches in overall length to be a “short-barreled rifle” (SBR).

Do I need to ship a lower to an FFL?

An FFL is required to ship and receive any firearm receiver, including a completed (functional) 80% lower. Specifically, an FFL is required if you’ve done any work to an 80% lower receiver but you plan to ship, transfer or sell it.
