Do TriMet buses take credit cards?

MAX ticket machines accept credit/debit cards or cash. WES ticket machines accept cards only. Hop tickets are single-use paper tickets with electronics inside, good for either 2½ hours or one day (valid until 3 a.m.).

Does TriMet take dollar coins?

On the bus Insert coins or bills into the farebox (exact change only), then grab your ticket from the printer on the right. Fareboxes accept any combination of bills and coins (including $1 coins).

Can I use a debit card to get on the bus?

Credit/Debit Card Customers can pay their fare with the following major credit cards – VISA®, MasterCard®, or Discover®. Customers may also use debit cards to pay for their fare.

Can you use a debit card on a bus?

Contactless payment cards issued for Visa, Mastercard and Maestro can be used. Pre-paid contactless payment cards can be used but please make sure they have enough credit on them before boarding.

Is the Portland Street Car Free?

Fares & How to Pay A 2.5-hour adult streetcar-only ticket costs $2 for 2.5 hours or $5 for all-day. They can be purchased onboard any streetcar. Youth and senior 2.5-hour tickets cost $1.25 and $2.50 for a one-day pass (valid on TriMet and Portland Streetcar).

How do I tap my debit card on the bus?

Tap to board Just tap your card on the Hop reader as you board to instantly pay the $2.50 Adult fare. The screen will show a confirmation that you paid your fare and you will hear an audible chime. You’re good to go!

Is Streetcar part of TriMet?

Although the line is not part of the TriMet system, the city honors TriMet’s fares for the streetcar, for simplicity and convenience of transferring passengers. Streetcar-only fares are available, but are not valid on TriMet, unless using a Hop card, which will charge the difference in fare upon transferring.

Is Portland Streetcar TriMet?

Portland Streetcar honors all TriMet fares. Proof of valid fare is required to ride on Portland Streetcar.
