Do Koreans have sweaty armpits?

With summer just around the corner, many Koreans are worried about body odor from sweaty armpits. But it turns out that Koreans are “genetically mutated” to have less of a sweating problem than others, according to research.

Why do some people’s armpits not smell?

According to a group of researchers from the University of Bristol in the UK, 2 percent of people (at least in their survey) carry a rare version of the gene ABCC11 that prevents their armpits from producing an offensive odor.

Do Japanese wear deodorant?

What races sweat the most?

Do Japanese people sweat?

What ethnicity has the most body odor?

Although there is some controversy on the subject of “racial” variation in body odor, it is determined that African blacks probably produce the greatest amount of apocrine sweat, which is the known substrate for axillary odor.

Body size: Bigger people generate more heat because they have to move more body mass, so that means more heat generated and hence, more sweat. The greater surface area that comes with a larger body also requires more perspiration to cool it down.

TIL that most Koreans do not use deodorant due to a gene called ABCC11, which prevents sweat from producing odor.
