Are strut tower braces worth it?

In short, it depends. Older and classic cars, such as muscle cars, often benefit from strut-tower braces, especially in conjunction with other suspension upgrades, Drifted notes. That’s not to say a modern car, such as a hot hatch, won’t also see improvements from an aftermarket strut bar.

Does a strut brace make any difference?

A strut brace is not going to have as noticeable an effect on the way your car drives as something like a new set of coilovers, and there won’t be much point in adding one to a car whose suspension components are saggy and worn out.

What do strut tower braces do?

Strut bars have a few different names. You may also hear them referred to as strut tower braces or shock tower braces. Essentially, these bars connect the two front strut towers under your hood, creating a point of unification that overcomes the shortcomings of the suspension and reduces chassis flex.

Are tower bars worth it?

Generally, cars that handle well are easier to manage at high speeds. The main purpose of a strut bar is to make your car easier to handle when being driven hard. Strut bars won’t necessarily increase your cornering speed or lap times. Instead, they’ll make your car more playful and predictable when cornering at speed.

How far apart should posts be for H brace?

Distance between the corner/end post and the secondary vertical post is important! This gap, to be filled by the horizontal post, should be twice the finished height of your fence. For a four-foot-tall fence, the H brace assembly would use a full eight-foot post as the horizontal.

How wide should an H brace be?

An H-brace is an assembly of three posts and bracing wire which creates a strong resistance to the lateral force of the fence. Braces may be single or double, however the width should ALWAYS be 2 ½ times the height of the fence.

Should sway bar be parallel to ground?

They should be at or as close to parallel as possible. However if you are not using the disconnect and using an e-disconnect sway bar like on the rubicon you would need the sway bar angled higher to accommodate for suspension droop.

Are thicker sway bars better?

Well-engineered sway bars will not result in a stiff ride. They complement the suspension but do not overpower them. However, bigger is not always better – you can go too big! If you go too big, the suspension won’t be able to twist the sway bar properly, which would result in a stiff ride.
