What is the difference between infantry cavalry and artillery in RISK?
The number of armies a player controls is denoted by different pieces. An infantry piece is worth a single army, while cavalry is worth five armies, and artillery symbolizes 10 armies. Of the 56 Risk cards, 43 are marked with a territory and a picture of infantry, cavalry or artillery.
How does attacking work in RISK?
How to attack in Risk
- Announce both the territory you’re attacking and the one you’re attacking from.
- Roll the dice against the opponent who occupies the opposing territory.
- Before rolling, both you and your opponent must announce the number of dice you intend to roll, and you both must roll at the same time.
Is Axis and Allies better than Risk?
Risk is a more simplified experience compared with Axis & Allies. There is only one unit type to consider and no naval battles. While both games involve a map of the globe, in Risk each player’s starting territories are likely to change each game and there are no alliances (unless you play a rule variation).
Can you play risk legacy more than once?
Based on my experience with more than a dozen games of Risk: Legacy, I have no doubt that other, even more terrifying things await inside. But this legacy deck can only ever be revealed once. In essence, that means Pandemic Legacy will eventually self-destruct. You’ll only ever be able to play it so many times.
How does attacking work in Risk?
If you decide to attack, you must follow these rules:
- You may only attack a territory that’s adjacent (touching) to one of your own, or connected to it by a dashed line.
- You must always have at least two armies in the territory you’re attacking from.
Is attacking required in Risk?
You are not required to win a battle or even to try an attack to do so. Some players refer to this as the “free move”. To fortify your position, move as many armies as you would like from one (and only one) of your territories into one (and only one) of your adjacent territories.
How does dice rolling work in Risk?
Players lose a unit for each matchup in which the opponent has a better roll, so the possible results if the defender rolls two dice are that the attacker loses two, the defender loses two, or each player loses one. However if the defender only rolls one, then they can lose a unit or the attacker can lose a unit.
