The Covid-19 Urgent Appeal was launched by NHS Charities Together to raise funds to support NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by Covid-19 across the country.
What is NHS charity?
NHS Charities Together began as a membership organisation back in 2000, under the name Association of NHS Charities. Our purpose was to support members through training, advocacy and networking – helping them to have more impact.

What does the NHS do with donations?
Money donated to NHS charities cannot be spent on direct patient care, so this money isn’t paying for drugs or personal protective equipment. Instead, it’s been used to buy things like wellbeing food boxes for staff, and computer tablets that allow patients to speak to their relatives.
