How good are HSD coilovers?
They were low quality, oversprung, and basically started to fail after a few thousand miles of use. Just like BCs you have to run them at a very high damper setting or the ride will be very bad. At those settings, they are not very streetable.

Why are my coilovers clunking?
Clunk – If there is a clunk and you have confirmed that installation was done correctly, there is play somewhere in the suspension or there may be suspension components coming in contact with other components.
Why are my coilovers bouncy?
It WILL bounce if you shocks are set too stiff. The dampers fight with the spring and it will just feel terrible on bumpy roads at high speeds.
How often should you rebuild your coilovers?
I spoke with Terry from Fortune and he said rebuilds should be done every 2-4 years for normal use, and more so with track use. Is this the norm? How do other coilovers hold up? I’m just thinking in terms of future expenses.
Do coilovers need to break in?
A little break in is normal. Stiff might feel good, but you will actually get the best performance as soft as possible as long as that end of the car doesn’t bounce.
Are coilovers good for long drives?
Coilovers are generally a great upgrade for any car, even if you’re using them as a daily ride, but you have to be aware they’re more expensive than the standard suspension. If you’re looking for a performance-based car, this is a great option for improved handling.
