How is the slime robot controlled?

The control for the robot comes in the form of tiny magnetic particles, mixed into the fluid, which allows the slime to be manipulated with a magnetic field. It can be guided through tight spaces and channels using a single magnet, or anchored and stretched with two magnets.

So let me start with a few things you should know about magnetic slime BEFORE your decide to make it: You need to use neodymium magnets. These are rare earth magnets that are very powerful. They are also very dangerous if swallowed.

You will need:

  1. ½ cup (4 oz.) clear glue.
  2. ½ tbsp baking soda.
  3. 1 tbsp contact solution.
  4. 1 tbsp water.
  5. 1 tbsp black acrylic paint.
  6. Spatula or spoon.
  7. Mixing bowl.
  8. Measuring cups and spoons.

If ingested, it can irritate the gastrointestinal tract leading to stomach upset, vomiting, diarrhea, or other GI distress.

In a nutshell, yes, slime is perfectly safe for most kids. Borax is actually used as a soap and a disinfectant in many products. Besides Borax, the two most common activators used in slime making are liquid starch (Sta-Flo) which contains sodium tetraborate and saline solution which contains boric acid.

How do you make black ooze?

Instructions

  1. Pour your glue in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add black acrylic paint.
  3. Stir the water into the glue, about 2 Tablespoons to start.
  4. Finally, add the contact solution or liquid starch – 5 Tablespoons of contact solution, or 1/4 cup liquid starch.
  5. Keep stirring everything with your spatula and adjust as needed.

What if my dog eats slime?

What should you do if your pet ingests slime? Do not attempt to induce vomiting at home or treat your pet in any other way without advice from your veterinarian or an animal poison control center. Some at home treatments can do more harm than good. Call your veterinarian or Pet Poison Helpline.
