Is it necessary to pre-book ferry tickets to Magnetic Island? No, it is not necessary to pre-book ferry tickets. We do not allocate tickets to our ferry departure times, arriving early to the terminal is recommended to board your desired ferry departure.
Can I take my car over to Magnetic Island?
Do I have to take my car? No, walk on passengers and bicycles are welcome, however transfers to and from the ferry are to be made by the passenger and is not the responsibility of Magnetic Island Ferries.
Do you need a 4wd on Magnetic Island?
Most of Magnetic Island is easily assessable, but you will need a 4 wheel drive to access about 5 kilometres (one way) on Radical Bay Road. If you don’t have a 4 wheel drive then it is possible to walk this section and I did see some people doing just that.
Can I take my caravan to Magnetic Island?
Their large ferry can transport motorcycles, cars, campervans, caravans, boats and even semi-trailers from Townsville to Magnetic Island and back again. They also take foot passengers (for the same price as SeaLink), where you walk on and walk off before the vehicles enter the boat.

Is a week too long on Magnetic Island?
How many days do you need on Magnetic Island? I recommend at least three days and two nights on Magnetic Island, but if you can stay three nights, that’s even better. There are so many beautiful beaches, trails and restaurants, plus there is a super relaxed vibe on Maggie, that you might as well take advantage of it.
Can you swim at West Point Magnetic Island?
