Is Aquapanel a cement board?

How do you cut Aquapanel cement board?
Knauf Aquapanel Interior is easily and accurately cut using a coarse bladed saw, or by simply scoring and snapping. Score one side with a sharp knife, cutting through the mesh. Snap the board along the score, then cut through mesh on other side. Smooth any rough areas caused by scoring with a rasp.

Tony Soprano New Member. Tanking it use the dunlop kit which is about £30. Yes the aquapanel is impervious to water but the penetration will happen in the joints specially corners. For few pound more you will have peace of mind so my advice is to tank it.

Most render manufactures state that their product can be applied over cement particle boards however from experience although that is correct I would advise that the render is kept as thin as possible, probably a maximum of 10mm in thickness.
How do you seal an Aquapanel joint?
Ensure all joints between boards are staggered and leave a 3mm gap. All joints should be filled with flexible tile adhesive, and Knauf Aquapanel Interior Joint Tape embedded into the wet adhesive. Always use a quality polymer modified based flexible tile adhesive, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Where can you use Aquaboard?
i will recommend highly to use aquaboards around bath area ,as it is a cement board ,it will not get soak or damage with the moisture of the hot water. Water proof board should be used in any area that will be wet, so inside a shower enclosure or around a bath it is vital to use some sort of water proof boarding.
