Is Goldsmiths library open to public?
The Library is open 24 hours every day for Goldsmiths students, staff and Alumni. The Library is open from 9am-9pm for registered Community and SCONUL users.
How do I borrow books from Goldsmiths library?

- Ordinary loans are 3 week loans with white date labels.
- Short loans are 7 days with blue date labels.
- REFERENCE ONLY cannot be borrowed. They have a yellow band on the cover.
Who can use Goldsmiths library?

Accessing the Library Full-time undergraduate students can use the Library for reference only. PhD, postgraduate and part-time undergraduate students can borrow up to five books. University Staff can borrow up to five books.
Can you eat in Goldsmiths library?
Library Cafe The library café sells salads, pastries, sandwiches, and baguettes, as well as healthy snacks and confectionery all day. The Library Cafe is located on the ground floor of the Rutherford Building (library).
Can Goldsmiths students use UCL Library?
UCL Ph. D. and Mphil. students and staff can apply for borrowing access from Goldsmiths Library under the SCONUL Access Band ‘A’ scheme upon production of a full valid UCL ID and a SCONUL Access Band ‘A’ card (obtained through UCL library).
Who can use the UCL Library?
UCL students and staff are eligible to use and borrow books from the various UCL libraries, using your UCL ID card. Qualifying UCL alumni and visitors must complete an online registration form before visiting.
Can you go to other UNI libraries?
City students and staff can visit other libraries under the SCONUL Access scheme. See their website for details on how to join. Always check ahead to make sure the library you want to visit is open to visitors or new members.
Should I study at library or at home?
Studying in the library offers many benefits especially if you have trouble focusing in your home environment. It’s a quiet place in an academic setting that allows you to keep your mind centered on homework. Studying in the library may not be right for you, however.
Can anyone use the UCL Library?
We allow UCL alumni and qualifying visitors to visit our libraries. All applicants must complete an online registration form and have received an email confirming their Library membership before arriving at the Library to collect a library card.
What time is best for memorizing?
That said, science has indicated that learning is most effective between 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 10 pm, when the brain is in an acquisition mode. On the other hand, the least effective learning time is between 4 am and 7 am.
How do you dress for a library?
You can wear almost any kind of somewhat nice-looking top so long as you have a more conservative cardigan or blazer to go with it. Most libraries blast the air conditioning, and this is why I stand strong by the cardigan (or having an extra sweater or blazer around).

What if the resource I discover is not available at Goldsmiths Library?
If the resource you discover is not available at Goldsmiths Library or at Senate House Library you may still be able to access it by requesting an Inter-Library Loan. Senate House provides access to some key databases that we recommend searching separately.
Where can I find information about goldsmiths in the 17th century?
Users will be able to search approximately 12,500 individuals connected to the goldsmiths’ trade during the 17th century. Selected information from this database can now be searched online through Records of London Livery Companies Online (ROLLCO) www.londonroll.org. A fuller version of the database can also be searched in the Library.
