Is Spyderco tenacious a good EDC?
For the price, the Spyderco Tenacious Knife offers an excellent value. We have found that it works just fine for everyday tasks, while a metal blade might be better for heavy duty work. It is not the highest quality EDC out there, but it offers both comfort and the capability of repeated use, all for around $40.

Is the Spyderco tenacious made in China?
The Tenacious was the first main line Spyderco® to be made in China. The quality is similar to Japanese or American produced Spyderco® knives and the price is much lower. The handle is black G-10 laminate, milled with prolonged fatigue-free cutting in mind.

The leaf shaped blade of the Tenacious is made of 8Cr13Mov Stainless steel. 8Cr13Mov is a more inexpensive steel that is comparable with Aus 8. However, Spyderco does an excellent job with the heat treat on this steel and my experiences have found that 8Cr13Mov sharpens well and holds a good edge.

Mike Turber. My understanding is that the Bronze Phosphorus is continously self lubricating where the Teflon is not and the Teflon will wear down over time. The bronze remains a better bushing over time and is therefor preferred in items that will be used over very long periods of time.
