Is the AGV K5 a good helmet?
The AGV K5 is an excellent helmet with no common flaws reported by owners. It’s a great looking, high quality helmet that’s SHARP 4 star safety rated, DOT & ECE certified, is comfortable, aerodynamic and rated about average for noise suppression.

Is AGV Snell certified?
AGV doesn’t submit any of its helmets for SNELL approval, so the AGV K1 is not SNELL approved. With that being said, the AGV K1 does carry DOT certification (US), a European ECE 22.05 safety rating, as well as a 4-Star SHARP rating.
What is the difference between AGV K1 and K3?
The K3 trumps the K1 with an integrated sun visor but falls short with its ratchet fastening system. While this isn’t a dealbreaker, the tried-and-tested Double-D ring fastener found on the K1 is widely accepted as a better solution. Other than that, these helmets are pretty evenly matched on paper.
Is AGV K5 Snell approved?
This helmet is both ECE and DOT certified, and it received four out of five stars from SHARP. While it hasn’t earned a SNELL rating, these other accolades are more than enough for us to approve of the K5. The AGV K6 is made in China. After checking a quick sample of five different AGV models on my shelf, four out of five were manufactured in China. The exception being the AGV Pista GP-R, which is made in Italy.
