Water restrictions are currently not in place but we’re asking everyone to reduce their water use. Water restrictions will be considered when the combined level of SEQ Water Grid dams reaches 50%.
Is seq in a drought?

Can I use a sprinkler to water my garden?
DO use soaker hoses to water vegetable gardens. Again, hit the ground, not the plant. DON’T use overhead sprinklers in vegetable gardens. More water is lost to evaporation than is absorbed by the soil.
What does Level 1 water restrictions mean?
Under level 1 water restrictions, residents are prohibited from watering gardens between 6 am and 6 pm in summer months (from 1 September to 31 March). In addition, the washing of paved areas and driveways using hosepipes is prohibited as well.

The recent rains “did not completely eliminate the drought,” said Brad Pugh, a meteorologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration who helps manage the Drought Monitor map. “There’s still long-term precipitation deficits dating back two years. But it certainly helped improve drought conditions.”

Over 60% of Queensland remains drought-declared, as reviewed at 1 August 2021. Currently there are 34 entire local government areas and three part local government areas meeting the drought declared criteria, with 23 Individually Droughted Properties in a further eleven local government areas.
Should you water garden every day?
