What is a wye connector?

A fitting with three openings, a wye is used to create branch lines. It is a type of tee fitting which has the side inlet pipe entering at a 45° angle, or an angle other than 90 degrees. A standard wye is a “Y” shaped fitting which allows one pipe to be joined to another at a 45 degree angle.

What angle is Wye?

A wye joins branch lines. The side inlet pipe enters at a 45 degree angle. One pipe can be joined to another at a 45 degree angle with a standard wye.

What angle does the branch of a Wye leave the fitting?

Pipe wyes and pipe tees: The pipe connection is typically at a 45-degree angle rather than a usual 90-degree angle. If a branch turns out at the end to be perpendicular to the through line, the pipe fitting becomes a “tee wye”.

What is a reducing Wye?

A Reducing Wye is used in connecting a reducing branch line into a horizontal drain pipe. This is another popular variant of pipe wye and considered to be a popular type of pipe and tube fitting used in various applications. A reducing wye is also known as “Y-bend”.

What is a true Wye?

A straight run with a branch to one side is a LATERAL. A fitting with a trunk coming up that splits to a 45º branch left and right is called a TRUE WYE, because it resembles a “capital letter Y” as we learned to draw it in grade school.

What is a wye in PVC pipe?

PVC wye fittings are designed to offer branch-like connectivity in a pipe line. They are similar in structure to a tee, but with the top branch protruding at a 45 degree angle instead of perpendicular to the other two outlets. We carry standard, reducing and double wye fittings in schedule 40 PVC, and have all sizes.

What is a DWV Wye?

PVC DWV Wyes are a type of PVC Fitting with three connection points. Two of the PVC Pipe connections are straight across and one is on a 45 degree angle. This is why this PVC Fitting is given the name Wye or Y.

What are the dimensions of a Sch 40 PVC Wye?

2″ x 3/4″ Sch 40 PVC Reducing Wye Soc 475-248. PVC wye fittings are designed to offer branch-like connectivity in a pipe line. They are similar in structure to a tee, but with the top branch protruding at a 45 degree angle instead of perpendicular to the other two outlets. We carry standard, reducing and double wye fittings in schedule 40 PVC,

What is a double Wye fitting?

They are similar in structure to a tee, but with the top branch protruding at a 45 degree angle instead of perpendicular to the other two outlets. We carry standard, reducing and double wye fittings in schedule 40 PVC, and have all sizes. Wyes are useful in facilitating flow, particularly if the line is carrying low to no pressure.
