What is the best adhesive for splashbacks?

For sticking it to the wall, we recommend as a glass splashback adhesive sealant, a neutral clear solvent-free silicone (also known as mirror adhesive or low modular neutral cure silicone – phew!). Its got great bonding strength, quick to cure and is water resistant so just the thing for the job.
How are glass splashbacks attached?
Clean the area of the wall where the glass splashback will be fitted. Apply neutral cure silicone adhesive in ‘blobs’ on the rear of the splashback. Gentely push the glass splashback against the wall. Leave the splashback in place until the adhesive cures.

Are kitchen splashbacks easy to fit?
Acrylic and laminate splashbacks are arguably the easiest to install yourself because they are lightweight, thin and are often supplied with self-adhesive backings.

Some like to end it where the upper cabinet ends. Others like to stop at the edge the counter. And still, others want to take it to the end of the wall. Whichever looks best for the kitchen is the best place to end the backsplash.
Where should backsplash be stopped behind Hood?
The first would be to tile to the bottom of the vent hood, which should come up a bit from the upper cabinets. The second option would be to tile behind the hood and finish it with a trim piece. If you go this route I would add crown moulding to the top of your cabinets, as it may appear unfinished.
How do you cut a splashback panel?
If you need to cut your splashback, use a fine-toothed blade that’s suitable for plastics or aluminium and make sure it’s sharp so as not to melt or chip your acrylic. A router is the best tool to use but circular or table saw can also be used providing the blade is suited to plastics.
Do you silicone top of splashback?
Sealing your splashback is the final step to installing a splashback and perhaps the most important! If water falls behind, it can create mould, rot and can trap dirt. It’s super easy to prevent this is using a Selleys silicone sealant.
Can you use silicone to attach backsplash?
If applicable, apply a thine of silicone along the front edge of the backsplash, where the sidesplash will touch the front side of the backsplash. If applicable, set each sidesplash in place and press for good adhesion. Once set, apply silicone where the backsplash (or sidesplash) and countertop meet.

How do you finish the edge of a backsplash?
Complete the edge by applying a piece of painter’s tape to the wall next to the tiles. Squeeze a thin line of caulk down the outside edge of the tiles where they meet the wall. This blends the tiles into the wall, giving it a clean, finished look.
