In Uechi-Ryu they spar and compete with full-contact rules with 10 secs ground grappling even. I guess the sparring wouldn’t be as intense as in Kyokushin though. I’m not sure if I’m a big fan of Uechi-Ryu katas and way of training, I love kata in general though.
