Pets are welcome at the park. A pet picnic area is located at the valley picnic lot near the sledding hill and pets may use the water outside of the designated swimming area. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 8 feet and under control at all times.

Hunting and trapping are allowed in the open areas of the park during the Wisconsin state parks hunting and trapping time frame. Trapping is not permitted in closed areas as noted on the park hunting map or within 100 yards of any designated use area, including trails.

The Kinnickinnic River supports one of the highest density brown trout fisheries in the country with a few brook trout present in the mainstem and tributaries. Parker Creek has multiple streambank easements and fee title land and contains a high-density brown trout population with fewer brook trout present.
