What is the difference between a 46RH and 46RE transmission?
Here are the pics I snapped off of the visual differences between the 46RH tranny and the 46RE tranny. They both use the same front half up to the bell housing, but the rear is different. The 46RH is longer overall and non computer controlled for shifting.
Can I use a 46RE in place of Rh?
You cannot use the 46RE in place of the RH since it is computer controlled. Also the transfer case is a 231-D just like mine was. The difference is the output shaft housing on the 95 has provisions for the Vehicle Speed Sensor. The 46RE takes the VSS off the bottom side of the tail shatf housing on the tranny.
