A rig is any extension that is used to improve the quality of a piece of equipment or shot. A graphic rig is used to improve the graphics that accompany a camera shot. Most people understand that many shots require editing to make them flow smoothly with a film. A graphic rig can help this happen.
Why do I need a rig for my camera?
Camera rigs help to keep the shot smooth, even when the hands holding the rig are unsteady. Camera rigs with sliders allow the camera to slide along a plane on the rig, following the motion of the shot’s subject. Camera rigs are also useful for shots that require controlled, smooth panning.

Are camera cages necessary?
The camera cage provides all the extra mounting points you could want plus the points are very secure and don’t stress the camera at all. A camera cage will also make it easier to attach and use lens accessories, too.

What is Walldo?
WALLDO stands for WIDE/ANGLED/LOW/LINKING/DEPTH/OPPOSITE. It is a mental cheat-sheet for shooting video in the field. The shots are creative but also have very practical purposes behind them. ( Examples of each below) WIDE: Shooting from a distance provides context, and perspective.
What makes a camera a cinema camera?
I’m going to use the term here to refer to any class of camera that is designed primarily around shooting video first, with a high degree of control over the picture, and that can produce footage that looks like film.
Are shoulder rigs good?
In the long run though the benefits of a shoulder rig will vary greatly depending on your style of shooting. If you need to be mobile and prefer not to have your camera locked down on a tripod or monopod then a shoulder rig is a great alternative.
