Are AmeriGlo night sights any good?

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent choice. These are excellent, no frills, replacements for your Glock. They’re of medium brightness, which is (for me at least) perfect. Don’t expect to see much glow in the daytime – they’re NIGHT sights, and in darkness they’re just right.

Who makes AmeriGlo?

Wixom, MI, (June 25, 2018) – Trijicon®, Inc., global provider of innovative aiming solutions for the hunting, shooting, military and law enforcement markets, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire AmeriGlo, a leading supplier of U.S. made night sights.

What is Glock AmeriGlo?

The new GLOCK BOLD sights by AmeriGlo combines the best features of GLOCK sights. A durable, bright-orange outline surrounds a Swiss made green tritium insert, creating a fast, eye-catching front sight. Paired with a serrated, traditional squared-notch tritium rear sight, the BOLD set is ideal for all environments.

What are AmeriGlo sights made out of?

AmeriGlo sights are Machined from us-made bar stock steels and Assembled using Swiss-made tritium light sources.

What are tritium night sights?

The tritium vials found in gun “night sights” and wrist watches contain a small amount of tritium gas and phosphorus or other photo-sensitive materials. As the tritium breaks down and gives off energy. This energy (ionizing radiation) excites the phosphorus and causes it to glow.

Are night sights necessary?

Night sights are, in my opinion, not as important as having a good light source. Possible danger must be illuminated and identified. However, there are times when a white light won’t do anything more than make you more vulnerable (which is always the case in such a situation, but it is often necessary).

Is AmeriGlo made by Trijicon?

Trijicon has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire AmeriGlo, a leading supplier of U.S. made night sights. The acquisition is expected to be complete within 30 to 60 days. “The AmeriGlo brand is a natural fit for us,” said Trijicon President Stephen Bindon.

What do Glock Night sights look like?

GLOCK Steel night sights are fitted with a small tritium element, glowing green in low light and set in white contrasting dots, which means they will be illuminated in low light conditions without the sight needing to be exposed to a light source first.

What is the best color for gun sights?

Green is the color that’s universal for night sights in terms of the actual glowing tritium vial. That’s great in when it comes to low light shooting and honestly it’s perfect. Now what happens when the sun rises or the light switch is flipped, or maybe you turn your weapon light on.

Where is AmeriGlo made?

AmeriGlo sights are designed, machined, and assembled in the USA.

How long do Glock tritium sights last?

The half-life of tritium is about 12.5 years, so in a little over a decade tritium sights will glow only half as brightly as when they were first made. If you buy a used handgun with tritium sights already installed, their replacement is in order.

Can you see tritium sights at night?

Tritium is a valuable tool in both training, targeting, conceal carry, as well as home defense. The ability for your sights to glow in both the day and dark, provide an immediate advantage for quick acquisition or nighttime application.
