Can a Royalex Canoe be painted?
With good surface prep, many kinds of paint will work. I like the Rustoleum marine paint. A spray can will work.

Can you wax a Royalex canoe?
To beautify, we suggest a vinyl protectant product such as Armor All®, 303 Products or Pledge. These are safe for use on any of our Polyethylene, Superlinear, Royalex® and Fiberglass canoes or kayaks. We do not recommend waxing your hull with a paste wax, such as most car waxes.
What has replaced Royalex?
Last spring Esquif Canoes, a Quebec canoe manufacturing company, came out with their line of canoes made with T-formex. This new material was something they developed to replace the loss of Royalex when Poly-One shut down production.
