Insert the strip of staples, points down, into the staple channel and close the top of the stapler, the magazine will slide back into its correct position and you’ll hear a small click. Some of our staplers, such as the Zero 01 or our range of Heavy Duty staplers, are front loading.

Why is my stapler jamming?

Depending on the model of stapler you have, attempting to staple too many pieces of paper at once may cause your stapler to jam. Most desk staplers can’t handle more than 20 sheets at once. Make sure you use a high-quality stapler. Cheaper models will likely cause problems and typically don’t last very long.

Do staple guns wear out?

“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” isn’t necessarily true of staple guns. When any important part is broken or worn out, the tool simply won’t work. Before you start using a staple gun, check to ensure the spring, hammer, and rail are correctly assembled and undamaged.

How do you fix a one-touch stapler?

When a Staples One-Touch Stapler jams, it’s usually because you have tried to insert the staples into the pull-out metal slider instead of into the body of the stapler. Turn the stapler upside down, tip out the staples and try again. If a staple is stuck in the stapler head, use a pair of tweezers to tease it out.

What causes a staple gun not to work?

Jams usually occur when staples get cramped, bent, or wedged in the very top of the gun head. This makes it very difficult or even impossible for the tool to function correctly. So, if you find that your staples aren’t firing properly, your device likely has a blockage.

How do you disassemble a staple gun?

Look for the release lever on the very bottom of the staple gun. Pull on the lever to unclip the magazine, then pull the magazine out of the gun. Remove any jammed staples in the magazine with needle-nose pliers. Some jams are caused by staples failing to properly leave the magazine.

How do you open a jammed stapler?

Hold the top of the stapler magazine with two fingers and slowly, while maintaining firm pressure, start pulling the lid apart from the part of the magazine that holds the staple. Be careful not to do this too quickly, or the lid might again fly open, spraying the staples all over your office or desk.

Why is my pneumatic stapler not working?

Jams are the most common cause of a nailer not firing. Thankfully, they are often easy to clear. For safety, first disconnect the tool from the air supply, retract the feeder mechanism, and remove any excess fasteners from the magazine. From there, clearing the jam depends on what type of nailer you have.
