Can the Wii emulate Dreamcast?
The Wii is fully capable of playing DreamCast games under the right emulation, however it won’t be through VC though, each game was roughly a Gigabyte in size, even if you could install it onto SD card, it still wouldn’t fit on the 512MB internal flash since games have to be sent to it temporarly.

Should I get a Dreamcast or a PSP for emulation?
If you stick to older systems like TG-16 (PC Engine) SNES or Sega Genesis or the older 8 machines like the NES you will be perfectly happy with the results. Wishful thinking. The Wii barely pushes N64 emulation, let alone the PSP. The Dreamcast is within the realm of possibilities although the framerate might be hit and miss. Wishful thinking.

From what I have read I can run some Dreamcast games but they are glitchy and or slow, some would probably run OK even playable with frame skipping. Compare the Wii with it’s sub 1Ghz single core processor with 96MB’s of RAM.
Is a DC EMU possible on the Wii?
It was a generation ahead of PS1, N64 and Saturn, and they also outsold it. Guys, a DC emu IS possible on a Wii! There is a DC emu for the PSP! Only 6-7 fps proof of concept though. Think how more powerful the Wii is than the PSP. I’m not saying there will be any chance of full speed emulation though.
