Can you make your own View-Master?
Using a digital camera and Photoshop, users can create custom reels that fit a standard View-Master. It is painstaking work, layering tiny pieces of slide film to produce a 3D image, and the maker of the kit recommends using tweezers, a head-mounted magnifier and a light table.
What is RetroViewer?
Image3D’s custom reels and viewers for consumers—called RetroViewer—have the same look and feel as View-Master toys but feature the customer’s own personal photos. Consumers use Image3D custom reels and viewers as wedding invitations and table gifts, photo albums, birthday gifts, party invitations and other mementos.
How big is a View-Master reel?
View-Master Reels consist of a disk 9cm in diameter. Each disk contains 14 pictures, which comprise of 7 stereo pairs. Sawyers and Gaf reels used Kodachrome film and the colours last very well, even after 60 years.
How are View Masters made?
A mass consumer device marketed as a toy, the original View-Master came with thin cardboard disks, or reels, containing stereoscopic pairs of small Kodachrome photographs that when viewed through the apparatus created the illusion of three-dimensional scenes.
Can you put photos in reels?
Tap on the “Reels” tab on the bottom menu. Navigate to the photo icon in the bottom-left corner. Locate the photo you want to add to your Reels. Tap on it and set how long it will last.

15 to 60 seconds
Officially, Instagram Reels can be from 15 to 60 seconds long. However, in some cases, Reels can be as long as 90 seconds. As of early May 2022, select users already have access to this longer Reels length.
