Is Thrustmaster as good as Fanatec?
In terms of steering wheels, Thrustmaster offers more entry level options and so is the one to go for if you are less experienced and perhaps don’t have too much money to spend. Fanatec is the best choice if you want the most realistic experience and have a larger budget as they offer direct drive wheels.
Do CSL pedals work with ClubSport?
CSL Pedals connect directly to any supported FANATEC® Wheel Base via the included RJ12 cable. Alternatively, they can be used as a standalone USB device with the ClubSport USB Adapter (available separately), or with the CSL Pedals Load Cell Kit (coming soon).
Is a DD wheel worth it?
If realism is your ultimate goal, then direct drive wheels are definitely worth the money. However, if you are quite happy with a decent level of force feedback but much easier playability, then your money may be better spent on a high-end belt-driven steering wheel.
Is the CSL DD worth it?
If you are looking to upgrade your sim racing setup, then the CSL DD is extremely hard to ignore. It offers outstanding performance for its price range, and when paired with the Boost Kit offers performance that isn’t a million miles away from the heavy-hitting DD1 and DD2.
Is the Fanatec wheel worth it?
The feel, the smoothness and the force feedback of the Fanatec are just far superior. For those that take their sim racing somewhat serious, this is a great wheel to get started with. For those that don’t take sim racing serious and just want a wheel to get by on, this wheel is overkill.
Is the T GT worth it?
Verdict. The Thrustmaster T-GT is a great racing wheel with superb force feedback and particularly good performance with Gran Turismo Sport. It’s a little more polished in its presentation than its arch rival Fanatec CSL Elite too.

Are CSL pedals any good?
This is the option that I would go for if I was buying them again, as the load cell brake is truly where this pedal set shines. Whichever option you opt for, the Fanatec CSL Pedals offer great value, very good build quality and a lot of adjustability and customisation for a range of sim racers.
Is direct drive realistic?
Direct drive racing wheels are the most high end and realistic sim racing wheels on the market. With less mechanical interference due to their internal design, direct drive wheels provide a much more involved driving experience with stronger and smoother force feedback.
Will a direct drive wheel make you faster?
This drives the wheel itself and provides all of the torque, meaning there is no need for belts or gears to amplify the power. This is obviously more expensive, but it allows for much stronger, and even faster, force feedback.

Why is Fanatec so good?
It offers a smooth action, the pedals are great, and a relatively wide diameter wheel that makes it feel less like a toy. The Fanatec CSL Elite isn’t quite as easy to use than the Thrustmaster T-GT, and is a little noisier too. Both are great, but the Elite pips it with cleaner-feeling force feedback.
