Does gear matter in Guild Wars 2?
As other people have said equipment in GW2 works differently to a lot of other MMOs (or RPGs) you may have played. Higher tier equipment does have better stats, but it’s not simply a matter of “stacking” the highest tier you can get and expecting that to make your character stronger.
